Four Point Vision & Values <NEW

Pastor Tony Peaks
First, every church’s vision should start with desiring to see people saved, filled with the Holy Ghost, and water baptized in order to develop a proper means of outreach.

Second, we want to see a greater commitment to every event of the church (Sunday School, covered dishes, music practice, banquets, regular and special services, ladies prayer and Bible study, youth group, and special events). We, being a body of believers, will definitely touch the community. These will, thereby, show growth and responsibility towards spiritual things. We must show excitement about the affairs of the local church or we will never convince anyone to be a part of the body.

Third, the men need to take a greater interest in the church, temporally, first, then the spiritual will follow (Luke 16:10-13). The young men need to look up the older men to see commitment, faithfulness, burden and tithing.

Fourth, we desire to see people growing and maturing in the Word, in their relationship to Jesus, and in their relationship to one another.

Fifth, we want to see and maintain a consistency in growth and attendance.

Sixth, there is a need to support missions and help in the area of benevolence and helping the needy.

Seventh, we desire to create and develop an atmosphere of worship and praise that will prepare the hearts of the people to hear and receive the Word and, thereby, change them from glory to glory, faith to faith, hope to hope, and finally, day to day.

Eighth, we hope for a greater family (husband, wife, children), church family and growing relationships that will continue to promote the atmosphere of love that generates healing, comfort, and that sense of caring which draws people in the body.

Ninth, we have the vision for a Christian school for the local body and for the local community.

Tenth, we also would like to establish a Bible school for training young men and women to be sent forth in ministry and to equip local believers with a greater depth of God’s Word.

Eleventh, we feel a need to broaden our fellowship with other ministries/churches, thereby, strengthening ourselves and enabling us to grow by hearing fresh new ministries with some frequency.

Twelfth, because of all the above, we envision a need for the expansion of the facilities.

One of the major goals of Open Door Church is to be a multi-cultural, multi-racial, and multi-ethnic church, breaking down walls and barriers for the people of this city and neighboring areas, a local body of believers working together in unity furthering the Kingdom of God; truly a church for all people.

Pastor Kathy Peaks
The first and primary goal for our church is to root and ground people in the Word of God and to develop a close intimate relationship with Jesus and individuals. We desire to see each member fulfill their highest calling in God and to become a functioning member in the Body of Christ. We desire to see people used and developed in gifts and ministry and to even send them out in the missionary fields.

As a body, we desire our church to be a refuge, a haven for all to come and be accepted, welcomed, loved, and a part as soon as they enter the door. But, we also desire to be holy and acceptable unto God, that our every day lives would be a worship, that the way we live daily would glorify God.

Finally, the biggest burden is for missions. We feel it will be a key to revival, a key to spiritual vitality and a key to Jesus’ return. If we could become selfless enough to deny daily comforts and conveniences for souls, to really pay a price, Jesus would be pleased and glorified.

We have a desire to, first, be taught and trained; second, be mature, individually and corporately; and third, to be sent out with a word to tell.
